WEEK 01
QUADRUPEDS ANATOMY AND ANIMATION: WALK CYCLES
In this class, you will learn the fundamental techniques for creating a convincing quadruped walk cycle. You will also gain an understanding of how to analyze creature anatomy to inform your animation choices.
WEEK 02
CREATURE BEHAVIOR STUDY
In this class, you will learn the basics of replicating common creature behaviors to create believable motion. Understanding how creatures behave is crucial to animating them realistically, and you will be taught important techniques to achieve this. By the end of the class, you will have the skills to create more convincing creature animations.
WEEK 03
WEIGHT IN LARGE CREATURES
In this week's lesson, you will learn how to apply weight to large creatures, an essential skill for animators seeking to create believable and dynamic animations.
WEEK 04
QUADRUPED LOCOMOTION: RUN CYCLES
In this week's class, students will be instructed on the techniques and principles of animating creature run cycles. The class will delve into the intricacies of applying the correct timing, spacing, and weight to these movements in order to create convincing and dynamic animations.
WEEK 05
ANATOMY OF WINGS AND ANIMATION
In this week's class, you will gain an understanding of the intricacies involved in animating wings. You will learn how to study the anatomy of wings, and how that knowledge can be applied to create realistic and compelling wing animations.
WEEK 06
FLYING AND GLIDING CYCLES
In this class, you will be taught the art of creating dynamic flying and gliding cycles for a variety of winged creatures. Through a detailed study of wing anatomy and movement, you will learn to create fluid and natural animations that capture the essence of flight.
WEEK 07
TAKE OFF'S AND LANDINGS
In this class, you will learn the techniques to animate take-off and landing sequences for winged creatures with accuracy and realism.
WEEK 08
ANIMATION PROJECT 01 - CREATURE FIGHT SCENE PLANNING
In Week 1 of the project, you will begin your creature fight scene project by learning essential steps for successful planning, gathering references, and setting up your scene
WEEK 09
ANIMATION PROJECT 02 - CREATURE FIGHT SCENE BLOCKING
Stage 2 of the creature fight scene project will involve blocking out the entire scene to establish a reasonable scope. You will learn how to efficiently plan and execute the layout of the scene to optimize the animation process.
WEEK 10
ANIMATION PROJECT 03 - CREATURE FIGHT SCENE SPLINING
In stage 3, you will focus solely on animating your creature fight scene. You will receive valuable workflow tips and tricks to help you streamline your work and create a compelling and dynamic animation.
WEEK 11
ANIMATION PROJECT 04 - CREATURE FIGHT SCENE FINAL POLISH & CAMERAS
During the final stage of the course, you will receive guidance on adding intricate details to your animation to take it to the next level. This week will challenge you to push your abilities to their limits and produce a final product that truly showcases your newfound skills.
WEEK 12
ANIMATION PROJECT 05 - CREATURE FIGHT PROJECT FEEDBACK
During the last week of the course, you will have the opportunity to receive personalized feedback from your mentor. Their expert guidance will enable you to elevate your animation skills to the next level and produce a final shot that showcases your newfound abilities.
