WEEK 01

THE 12 PRINCIPLES OF ANIMATION

You will be taught the very fundamentals of animation, by having a thorough breakdown of the animation principles and how to apply them to your work.

WEEK 02

UNDERSTANDING THE GRAPH EDITOR

As an animator, the graph editor is an indispensable tool that can significantly enhance the quality of your work. In this class, we will provide you with in-depth training on how to effectively leverage the graph editor, enabling you to produce professional-grade animations.

WEEK 03

BASIC CHARACTER ANIMATION

Merely having theoretical knowledge without practical application does not suffice in this industry. Therefore, in this week's session, we encourage you to challenge yourself and showcase your expertise by animating a high-quality run cycle.

WEEK 04

THE POWER OF POSING

Our focus for this week's class is centered on refining your posing skills. Posing is a crucial component in creating excellent animation, and it is essential to master the art of pushing your poses to the next level. We will provide you with the necessary guidance and techniques to improve your posing and elevate the quality of your animation

WEEK 05

THE POWER OF ANIMAION LAYERS

Animation layers are a fundamental asset in an animator's toolkit, offering the ability to make non-destructive edits to motions. In this week's class, we will provide you with comprehensive training on how to maximize the full potential of layers, empowering you to enhance the quality of your animations."

WEEK 06

USING REFERENCE CORRECTLY

Refining your ability to utilize reference material is crucial for aspiring animators, as it is common for beginners to merely replicate their references. In this class, we will instruct you on how to extrapolate vital information from reference materials to create compelling and realistic animations, as done by industry professionals.

WEEK 07

RIGGING FOR ANIMATION

Acquiring a fundamental understanding of rigging is a prerequisite for success in the animation industry, as it enables effective communication with technical animators. Upon completion of this class, you will possess the necessary knowledge to collaborate and communicate effectively with technical animators, fostering a more streamlined and efficient production process.

WEEK 08

RIGGING IN DEPTH 

This class is designed to deepen your understanding of the technical aspects of rigging, equipping you with the skills to troubleshoot issues in your animation scenes. Possessing the ability to self-sufficiently solve problems will make you a valuable asset to any team you collaborate with.

WEEK 09

ANIMATING WITH CONSTRAINTS

New animators often find constraints to be intimidating. However, in this class, we will simplify the process and provide comprehensive instruction on how to effectively utilize constraints to enhance your animations.

WEEK 10

ANIMATION WORKFLOWS

During this week's class, we will instruct you on how to optimize your workspace and thought process to achieve an efficient animation workflow. You will have the opportunity to observe and learn from a professional animation workflow that you can adapt and personalize for your own projects.

WEEK 11

ANIMATION PROJECT: Pre-Production/Planning Workflow

This week, we will begin the process of preparing you to create your best shot yet through comprehensive animation training.

WEEK 12

ANIMATION PROJECT: Polish, Lighting, and Rendering techniques

In our final week, we will guide you through the process of adding polish to your animations, including lighting and rendering techniques within Maya. Additionally, we will provide you with best practices, tips, and tricks to assist in preparing your animation showreel.
